City of Ballarat

Lets get to know more about Ballarat

Life, Regional Victoria, What to do

Ballarat has transformed, over the past 20 years in particular. ‘Back in the day’, we used to be able to drive from one side of Ballarat to the other, ie Sebastopol to Wendouree, in 15 mins. Now we have peak hour traffic!

My childhood was full of adventure, surrounded by paddocks, with horses and highland cattle and many mullock heaps to explore. I now drive around, what was once paddocks, where houses and cars are banked up on the footpaths.
Ballarat’s growth now offers something for everyone.

Expanding housing estates, large shopping centres, endless food options catering for the developing palate and a variety of new and emerging businesses that give Ballarat a competitive edge to other regional towns.

If you are new to Ballarat, welcome. Here are some of my top picks of things to do, that give you variety and options to learn more about Ballarat and step into something a little different.

The menu consists of all the pub classics, plus more gastropub style dishes.
